Episode #90: You Cannot Love Someone Sober w/ Wendy Dugal

Mandi Benecke and Naomi Marquez welcome Wendy Dugal to our table. For 16 yrs Wendy and her family have been trying to save their daughter/sister from herself and her addiction. With her daughter’s approval, Wendy hopes telling her story can help one family or one addict to never give up. As some may know, hope is sometimes all you have at the end of the day so hang on to it.

Wendy is a 54 yr old mom to four daughters and has been with her husband for 33 yrs. Wendy is one of nine children who grew up with alcoholic parents. She is a GiGi to two granddaughters and one grandson. Wendy is raising her 18-month-old granddaughter which relates to this story. For most of her adult life Wendy has been a stay-at-home mom/housewife but has worked in the medical field, mental health field and as a photographer. Wendy grew up in the same small town where she was born. Not just that but when she moved, it was only one street away from where she grew up. She loves a small-town feel when you know so many in your community. Her hobbies include painting, reading, photography, live music/concerts. Most of Wendy’s free time is spent with her family and friends. She is also on the Family Alliance Council at her grandchildren’s school they attend locally.
